AcDisplay is probably the best ambient lockscreen you can get for your Android Smartphone

We all love lock screens & want to customize it to the best way possible because that's the first thing you see every time you unlock the phone.
I was always on the lookout for good lock screens (frankly speaking, I tried around 45 different lockscreen apps including Snaplock and the inbuilt lockscreen apps provided by various launchers)
but never had a good experience since most of the lock screens out there are bloated trying to do too many things at once, thus hogging the phone's memory. So, if you want a very neat looking ambient lock screen which gives you just the right amount of detail at the lowest memory usage possible, then AcDisplay is for you. Let's go into the features and see what this app has up its sleeve.
Once you install AcDisplay and turn it on, your lock screen would be a blank screen or just your wallpaper showing the date, time & battery percent in the middle of the screen. When you get any notification, it is shown below the time display as a notification icon. What you can do with this notification is pretty damn cool. Want to see what the notification is about? Just tap and hold the notification icon. Want to directly open the app that sent you the notification? Swipe up and voila you'll directly open the app. Do you prefer ignoring the notification instead? Just swipe down and the notification will be dismissed. Now, Motorola smartphone users are very familiar with these actions, but not everyone has a stock lockscreen as cool as the one on a Motorola Smartphone.
Speaking further of the app's other cool features, you will also get access to additional actions in the notification. For example, if you received an email, you can delete the email directly from the lock screen without even having to unlock the phone.

The unlock animation is another feature that I absolutely loved! We really hate lock screens that dictate which way one is supposed to swipe to unlock the device. Some want you to swipe up while others want you to swipe sideways, and some even mimic the iPhone style. Well, now no more!
With AcDisplay one can swipe in whichever direction one wants & it unlocks the device for you.
Another nice feature about this app which i really liked is Active Mode. What this means is the device automatically wakes up when you take it out of your pocket so you don't even have to press the power button to see the lock screen. Well, you would have to download some other app(s) to provide this functionality, if you were to use a stock lockscreen.
So whether you want to see the notifications you've got or just a quick glance at the time on your phone, all you have to do is pull the phone out of your pocket & your device wakes up.

The app captures all notifications that your phone gets.
However, the app also allows you to blacklist apps so you need not have them show up on your lock screen when you get a notification from those apps.

There's a bunch of other supercool customizations that you can do like toggle low priority notifications (like Google Now), inactive hours, etc.
AcDisplay doesn't have its own security lock, and it sits upon the system's stock lock screen. So unlocking the phone will bring up the default lock screen of your phone (if you have such kind of security feature enabled, of course).

In a nutshell, this is THE lockscreen app any Android user should have, because of its customizability and its features.
The features and functionalities this app provides, makes me call it 'The Mother of all Lockscreen Apps'.

That being said, I really wanted to have the weather information shown in the notification. May be that's too much to ask for as of now. But the best part is, this app is open source and is freely available on GitHub and various other sites. So the Android Developers out there can have some good time tweaking the code as per their requirements.

Which other LockScreen Apps do you use and love the most, do let us know in the comments section below!

Happy Unlocking! :)
